FIRST LEGO League - 131159

This hands-on, team-oriented program captures children’s curiosity and directs it to discovering how science and technology impact the world around them. Using Lego bricks and WeDo 2.0 robotics kits, team members will explore a real-world challenge through research, critical thinking, and imagination. Over 10 weeks, teams will build a motorized Lego model and design a Show Me poster that addresses their solutions for the challenge. Teams will attend a local Expo on April 29 to showcase and celebrate their work.

Dog Behavior - 180709

Does your dog jump all over you and your guests? Do they lunge at the end of the leash when she sees other dogs? Do they pull you down the road and all over the neighborhood? Are they scared of everything? Do they want to fight with other dogs? Do they nip at you? Are they generally a pretty good dog but you want to teach them some extra manners? This is the class for you and your dog! Yes, we will learn basic obedience commands (sit, down, stay, come, etc.), but this is just a small portion of the class. We will discuss and demonstrate how to have a fun, balanced, happy and peaceful life with your dog. Individuals who take this class are consistently surprised and pleased at the outcomes in just 4 weeks! Even though it is a group class, there will be time to discuss and work on individual issues and questions. NO retractable, flexi leashes allowed! Please bring treats that your dog likes to each class. Your dog must have a current rabies vaccine. If your dog has ever severely bitten a person or another dog, please contact Jessica at troopjessica@yahoo.com before registering for the class. Instructor is Jessica Troop with The Balanced Dog, LLC. Ages 8 and up, children must be accompanied by an adult.

During this presentation, you will learn about the many social apps, the risks of these apps that children are using to communicate utilizing the internet and smartphones. Drug Awareness and Safety - 181146

Members of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and RUSH Task Force will present topics explaining the make-up of the RUSH Drug Task Force. Topics will include it’s jurisdiction, illegal drugs purchased and seized in the community, trends dealing with methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills, the seizure of assets and forfeiture, covert operations and who to contact to report drug information.
