Conversational Spanish - 181106

This is an introductory Spanish course for English speaking students with little or no Spanish background. The emphasis in this course will be on communication and will be taught using a variety of interactive methods. Conversational Spanish II - 181154

This highly participatory course is to improve your speaking ability and expand your knowledge of the Spanish vocabulary. This course is designed for students who are familiar with basic grammar (nouns, adjectives, articles, etc.) and would like to focus on increasing fluidity. In addition to providing opportunities for spontaneous conversational practice, this course will help you build your arsenal of Spanish knowledge with new vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and popular proverbs.

Concealed Handgun - 261108

Learn the basics in handgun safety and complete a course for your concealed handgun permit. You will learn safe operation and handling of a firearm. This class does not include any shooting practice but does include hands on demonstration with the instructor’s firearms ONLY, no outside firearms allowed. All classes are taught by a certified instructor and satisfy the education requirements for the permit, but participants must apply for their permit through their local court house. Classes at RCAC are conducted in conjunction with Dubby’s Fishing and Hunting store. Classes at PDCC are conducted by Mike Guthrie.

Womens Self-Defense - 351105

Rockingham County Deputies conduct three 90 minute Women’s Self Defense classes. The classes are three consecutive days set up for basic and more advanced self-defense skills and the entire class is hands on life saving. The classes contains components such as how to better personal awareness, defend against aggressive attackers, how to strike, punch and kick. An instructor will wear a padded “red man suit” on the third day so that students can use the skills they have learned.
